About this event
Join Bhante Kovida for an immersive workshop that
blends movement, mindfulness, and deep reflection to
cultivate awareness and inner peace. This mini
retreat will guide you through a combination of
dynamic meditation, mindful breathing, walking, and
reflection on the Three Characteristics of
Existence—impermanence, suffering, and
non-self—helping you connect to the present moment
in a profound way.
Workshop Highlights:
- Dynamic Meditation with Hand Movements: A guided
practice that uses intentional hand movements to
break through mental stagnation and awaken energy in
the body, promoting a dynamic state of awareness and
presence.
- Mindful Breathing & Walking: Engage in mindful
breathing exercises and walking meditation,
cultivating a steady and clear awareness with each
breath and step, while grounding yourself in the
present moment.
- Reflection on the Benefits of Mindfulness: Bhante
Kovida will offer teachings on how mindfulness
benefits both body and mind, and explore the core
Buddhist insight of the Three Characteristics of
Existence: impermanence (Anicca), suffering
(Dukkha), and non-self (Anatta). Understanding these
truths can lead to greater wisdom and freedom.
- Chi Gong Movements & Still Meditation: Explore
gentle Chi Gong movements that cultivate energy
flow, followed by Still meditation to settle the
mind and foster a sense of calm and clarity. The Chi
Gong will be accessible to all.
- Mindful Chanting: Bhante Kovida will lead
participants in chanting as a practice of mindful
expression, helping to bring focus and harmony to
the body and mind.
- Loving-Kindness Meditation: The workshop will
conclude with a Loving-Kindness (Metta) meditation,
sending compassion and goodwill to yourself and all
beings.
There will also be time for Q & A.
This workshop is designed to nurture your body,
